Chandre is a cool girl from Cape Town. She is learning how to drive, cycles and is a strong swimmer. She is native English speaking and speaks good Afrikaans which will help her learn Dutch. Chandre has three older brothers and is the only girl in her family. She loves children and has volunteered at a creche as well as having babysitting experience with all ages. She is happy to care for ages 0-8 yrs old. She will help with light housework and likes things to be in their proper place. Chandre can help with cooking and can make basic meals such as spaghetti and burgers. She enjoys pets and will certainly help care for them. Hobbies for this energetic and helpful young lady include music, going to the beach and reading.

Heidi is an au pair STAR who is a student and has applied to au pair for the end of 2021! She drives, cycles (and is just tall enough for a bakfiets) and swims seasonally. She is busy finishing off her degree in tourism management and speaks native Afrikaans and fluent English and would love to learn to speak Dutch fluently. Heidi is an excellent teacher and has worked as a teaching assistant and has done volunteering and babysitting. She would really like to work with school age kids aged 4 and up and might consider working with a child with special needs. Heidi enjoys cooking and currently cooks on a daily basis; she can cook anything from a recipe. She is neat and prefers a clean environment. Heidi enjoys pets and has experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits and even snakes! She would love to care for pets. She is described as highly creative (she likes making her own clothes for instance), musical (she plays ukulele and can teach children too), outdoorsy and active!

We are seeing an increase in demand for male au pairs and we are pleased to have such great candidates like Andre! He cycles and swims. Andre is very sporty and active and has good team working skills. He speaks native Afrikaans and fluent English and is interested in learning Dutch and German. Andre is one of 4 kids and has two much younger brothers (12 and 11) that he has helped care for. He has also been a cricket coach and has done babysitting for various families. The ages that he would like to work with are 4 and up. He would be a good match with very active, sporty children. Andre is happy to help with light housework and can make basic meals. He helps his mom in the kitchen as often as he can. Pets are not a problem either, he would happily care for them. On top of that he is also neat and well organized. Andre is described as an outgoing person who loves working out, playing golf or cricket, squash as well as field hockey.

Marisca is a new au pair STAR from Cape Town, South Africa. She drives, cycles (and is tall so no problem with a bakfiets) and swims and speaks native Afrikaans and is interested in learning Dutch. She is from a large family and has 3 siblings. Marisca was at boarding school for 5 years and is independent. She loves children and has experience up to 9 yrs old. She is happy to care for any number of children. Marisca will help with light housework, she is neat, and she loves cooking and trying new recipes. She loves animals and will of course care for them. Hobbies for this reliable, trustworthy girl include horse riding, arts and crafts, trail walking and she loves going on adventures. Marisca is also musical (she plays trumpet) and can read music.

Shaznay is a lovely au pair STAR from Brits, South-Africa who is looking for a host family. Shaznay's native language is Afrikaans and she speaks English fluently and would love to learn Dutch. She does not drive but she can cycle (she is tall and should be able to handle a bakfiets fairly easily) and swim. Shaznay is an independent young lady who has already lived on her own and who is by far the oldest child in her family and her siblings are 0-11 yrs old. She has helped care for her siblings since they were small and has a lot of independent babysitting experience with ages 1 and up. She does not feel that she has enough experience to care for a newborn baby. Shaznay is very neat and happy to help with light housework including cooking (she cooks 4 times per week). Dishes that she makes include chicken, vegs, mac & cheese and more. Shaznay loves pets and would happily care for them (she has experience with dogs and cats, bunnies, horses, you name it!). She is described as very loving and kind, helpful and caring. In her free time this caring young lady likes to ride horses, read, write poetry and she loves to bake.

Danielle is a lovely au pair STAR candidate from South Africa. She speaks native Afrikaans and good English and would love to learn Dutch. Danielle cycles and swims but does not drive. She is an oldest child who has two younger brothers and a younger sister whom she has helped care for since birth. Danielle also has babysitting experience and has done hockey coaching. Danielle loves kids and has experience taking care of children 1 and up and these are the ages she is most comfortable with. She enjoys pets and loves spending time with them and would not mind caring for them. Hobbies for this great girl include the outdoors and hiking trails, she likes doing hair and make up and also really values staying fit and active. Danielle is happy to help with light housework, she is neat and she likes to cook and bake.

Jordan currently lives in the Western Cape and she is South African. She is a native English speaker who has a good knowledge of Afrikaans and would love to learn the Dutch language. Jordan cycles often and is tall enough for a "bakfiets', she swims but does not drive. She is from a close-knit family with 2 siblings. Jordan loves children and has worked as an assistant teacher, has done volunteering and has babysitting experience with all ages 0-12 yrs old. She is happy to work with multiple children (more than 3 even) or just 1, she has no preference either way. Jordan is used to cooking on a fairly regular basis and can meals such as pasta dishes, chicken, rice and more. She also really enjoys baking. She is happy to help with light housework and is neat. Pets are not a problem for her either as she loves animals and would love to care for them. Jordan is described as strong willed but soft hearted at the same time and she is well rounded. She also has excellent time management skills. In her free time she likes to be outdoors, cycling, playing hockey or swimming but she also loves to read and will not pass up an adventure!

Kayla is a very sporty, sweet au pair STAR candidate from South Africa. She can cycle and swim but does not drive. Kayla speaks native Afrikaans and good English and would love to learn Dutch. Sports that she plays include field hockey, netball, softball and ring ball. Kayla loves children and has babysitting and tutoring experience and is able to care for ages 1 and up. She does not have the experience to care for a baby. Kayla is happy to help out with light housework and she can make quick and easy meals such as salads and pastas. She is also very neat. Kayla loves animals and has experience caring for dogs and cats, hamsters, guinea pigs and birds. In her free time this respectful, loving girl likes to go about exploring, if she is not playing a sport. She is described as very loyal and honest; she will stand up for what she believes to be right. She loves making music with the children in her care as well as playing sports, doing arts & crafts and much more!

Mayim is a new candidate from Namibia. She cycles and is a good height for a bakfiets, has just gotten her driver's license, knows how to swim and is both very sporty and creative. Afrikaans is her native language and she also speaks English fluently. Mayim also speaks sufficient German and is interested in learning Dutch and improving her German language skills. She grew up with her mom who is a teacher and older siblings. Mayim has been babysitting since 2015 and has experience with all ages but prefers children aged 1 and up. She might consider working with a child with special needs. She cooks 3 times per week and her favorite dishes to make are lasagna, curried chicken and spaghetti bolognaise. Mayim is happy to help with other light household chores and actually enjoys cleaning. Animals are not an issue for her either and she will happily care for them. Hobbies for this kind, down to earth, loyal and determined young lady include exercising, reading novels, writing, cooking and baking and listening to music.

Ilanza is a hometown girl and from our very own Melkbosstrand, Cape Town. She is a tall, strong girl and she has 3 older brothers and a sister. Ilanza cycles and should easily be able to tackle a bakfiets and she is a strong swimmer. She is sporty and has done athletics coaching. She is fully bilingual English/Afrikaans and eager to learn more languages (Dutch, Russian, German.. who knows!). Ilanza has plenty of babysitting experience and is able to care for older children 4 and up especially. We feel that she is particularly suited to a family with active kids (boys!) or sporty girls. She is not your typical girly girl. Ilanza is happy to help with light housework and she is a good cook who also likes to bake. She loves animals but is unfortunately allergic to cats. Hobbies for this soft hearted girl include kickboxing, netball, tennis, MMA, field athletics and action netball (did we mention the fact that she is very sporty?).

Jasmine is a new au pair STAR from Hermanus, South Africa. She is a tall girl who does not drive but knows how to cycle and she swims weekly. She has years of cooking experience and would love to cook fabulous South African dishes for her new host family! Jasmin is fully bilingual English/Afrikaans and is happy to learn Dutch. She has babysitting experience and loves to work with children 1 and up. She is happy to work for a single parent as she was raised by one herself. Jasmine is not only a good cook (her mom is a chef so the apple does not fall far from the tree) she is also happy to help with light housework. In her free time this organized young lady who works well under pressure, likes to sketch, visit local landmarks and she likes music and reading. She is described as a good multitasker who can think on her feet!

Lara is a South African au pair but has an EU passport and she is eager to start her new life in the Netherlands or Belgium where she hopes to study in 2022. Lara is a tall girl who cycles and swims, speaks native English and good Afrikaans and is interested in learning Dutch. She is a middle child and has a much younger brother. Lara loves children and has a lot of childcare experience both as a holiday club leader and babysitter and currently as a local au pair with children aged 4 months and 14 months. She is happy to care for all ages and for multiple children. Lara is neat and will help with ight housework including some basic cooking (she is not a great cook but happy to learn). Her hobbies include health and fitness, exercise and running and she like to go hiking. She is described as fun, positive, easy going and adventurous.
